WHOIS Lookup

Look up domain registration details — registrar, creation/expiration/updated dates, status codes, and name servers — via a live WHOIS protocol query (RFC 3912), following the standard IANA referral chain to the domain's registry. Fields the registry doesn't supply are shown as unavailable, never guessed.

This performs a live WHOIS protocol lookup from this app’s server (RFC 3912, via IANA referral) — not a third-party API. Only the domain you enter is sent.

FAQ

Where does this data come from?
From a live WHOIS protocol query (RFC 3912) run from this app's server — first to IANA's root WHOIS server to find the domain's registry, then to that registry's own WHOIS server. It's not a cached database or a third-party API.
Why are some fields missing?
Registries don't all publish the same fields, and registrant contact details are commonly redacted for privacy since GDPR. A missing field is shown as "Not available" rather than guessed at.
Why did the lookup fail for a domain I know exists?
Some newer or country-code TLDs don't publish a WHOIS referral at all, or rate-limit automated queries. When that happens, the tool reports it plainly instead of returning fabricated data.
