Features

  • Compose a pattern from literal text, digits, letters, whitespace, and anchors
  • Each block has its own quantifier (optional, one-or-more, exact count, range)
  • A plain-English explanation of exactly what the pattern matches
  • Test the generated pattern against your own sample text immediately

How to use

  1. Click a building block to add it to your pattern.
  2. Set its quantifier and, for literal text, the text itself.
  3. Reorder or remove blocks as needed.
  4. Copy the generated pattern, or test it against a sample string.

FAQ

Does this generate a regex from a plain-English description?
No — natural-language-to-regex is unreliable and easy to get subtly wrong. Instead you build the pattern from known, correct building blocks (literal text, digits, letters, anchors), so you always know exactly what you're getting.
Can I still edit the pattern by hand afterward?
Yes — copy the generated pattern into the Regex Tester to keep refining or testing it against more input.
