- Pick the calculation you need.
- Enter the two numbers involved.
- The result and its formula appear automatically.
Example
20% of 50 → 10, from (20 ÷ 100) × 50
Change from 50 to 75 → +50%, from ((75 − 50) ÷ 50) × 100
FAQ
- What's the difference between percentage change and percentage difference?
- Percentage change is directional and relative to a starting value — going from 50 to 75 is a +50% change, but going from 75 to 50 is a −33.3% change, even though the numbers are the same two values. Percentage difference is symmetric: it measures how far apart two numbers are relative to their average, with no notion of which one came first.
- Why does percentage change fail when X is 0?
- Percentage change is defined relative to the starting value, and dividing by zero is undefined — there's no meaningful "percent change from zero."
